On Saturday February 26, 2022, at approximately 23:27 hours, Officers from Boston Police District C-11 on-sited shots fired in the area of Fernandez Liquors on Hancock Street. First arriving officers located an adult male shot to the leg at 72 Hancock Street and a possible suspect fleeing the scene on foot.

Officers immediately rendered aid to the victim and Boston EMS transported him to a local area hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries. Officers have been credited with saving the man’s life, through their quick thinking and application of a tourniquet to the man who was bleeding profusely.

Officers from District B-2 and C-11 chased the suspect through multiple back yards, and eventually he was captured in the area of Cushing Avenue.

When Officers began to canvas the scene, they started to locate loose money. Large amounts of money, with some estimates as high as $70,000, was seen scattered throughout the area where the shooting occurred and in the flight path of the suspect.

The suspect has since been identified by Boston Police records Felisberto Lopes of 72 Hancock Street, Dorchester. He has been charged with Heroin/Morohine/Opium, Trafficking in 200 Grams or More c94C.32E(c) per public online records.

Mr. Lopes was not charged in connection with the shooting, however, sources disclosed to Live Boston that he is being investigated on related charges, and a warrant for his arrest has been sought for in relation to the shooting.
