At about 7:18 PM, on Thursday, August 25, 2022, officer assigned to the District B-3 Anti-Crime Unit (Roxbury), conducted a firearm investigation in the area of 950 Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester resulting in the arrest of suspect Keondre Tyler Barrett, 22 of Boston. Based on information received, officers became aware of an individual believed to be in possession of illegal firearm in area of Harambe Park and the Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center.
Officers observed the suspect, later identified as Keondre Tyler Barrett and after further investigation, recovered a firearm from Barrett’s coat pocket. The loaded firearm was determined to be a Khar Arms .45 caliber with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.
Keondre Barrett was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester Court. This is not Barretts first run-in with law enforcement, in 2020 he was arrested after a chase in Savin Hill. More can be read below:
