On Thursday, November 3, 2022, at approximately 19:45 hours, Boston Police officers assigned to both District B-2 and C-11 responded to a 911 call reporting that gunshots had been fired in the area of Columbia Road and Cushing Avenue.

When Police arrived on the scene, they spotted a male running away from the area clutching his waistband. Thinking he was the suspect they were looking for, officers placed him under arrest. However, they later discovered that he was unrelated to the incident and let him go.

Police began thoroughly scanning the area for evidence and witnesses. The caller stated that they heard about four or five gunshots fired, and police ended up finding multiple pieces of ballistic evidence in accordance. Additionally, a witness on the scene said they saw a black vehicle fleeing away from Columbia Road.

Police decided to check the surrounding buildings’ cameras to see if anything related to the incident would be there. The cameras captured two vehicles seemingly chasing each other and firing shots down Columbia Road. Detectives and the Bravo K Unit also found an abandoned white Honda near the scene and decided to tow it to use for evidence.

Police are still investigating this incident and there have not been any arrests. Detectives from District B-2 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Any individuals with information can contact District B-2 Detectives at 617-343-4275.
