At about 2:12 PM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) made an on-site arrest while responding to a bank robbery in progress in the area of 6 Tremont Street in Boston. While on approach, officers were informed that a male suspect, later identified as Gary Trecartin, 55, of Boston, entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

On arrival, the officers attempted to gain entry to the bank but found the doors to be locked and secured. A few moments later, a male party matching the given description exited the bank where he was stopped by the awaiting officers. Trecartin was placed in custody on scene after being positively identified at which time officers recovered an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency from his left pants pocket which aligned with the amount that was stolen during the incident.
