Massachusetts State Police Marine Unit, Troop H patrols, Boston Fire Department, and Boston Police were all involved in the efforts of saving a suicidal woman who had jumped into the water. At about 21:45 Hours last night, February 7 2023, authorities were notified of a woman in the harbor off the North Washington Street Bridge.
BFD swimmers then entered the water and were able to make contact with this woman. Troopers, from the Marine Unit, pulled both swimmers and the woman aboard and checked to see if she had sustained any injuries. Her only affliction was being severely cold, and she received a flotation jacket to help warm her.

The Marine Unit brought her to the Massachusetts State Police Marine dock, where Boston EMS was waiting for further evaluation. After this ordeal, the woman was transported to a Boston hospital to receive treatment. The investigation into the matter determined that the woman had jumped the water to commit suicide.
