Dorchester, Boston – Boston Police responded Friday afternoon in Dorchester to the area of Corona Street where a man lost his life in a fatal shooting, as confirmed by the Boston police. The incident unfolded near 42 Corona Street, close to Geneva Avenue, around 2:06 p.m. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. when officers were alerted to the sound of gunshots in the vicinity of 42 Corona Street by Shotspotter. Responding to the report, officers discovered a man who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head outside 46 Corona Street. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.

Boston Homicide Detectives are diligently canvassing the area in search of witnesses and any potential video footage that might aid in identifying the suspect responsible for this senseless act of violence. Speaking on the ongoing investigation, Police Superintendent Felipe Colon stated, “Our primary focus is to bring the responsible party to justice.”
As of now, the investigation is in its initial stages, with Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden addressing the media at the scene. Hayden appealed to the local community for assistance, saying, “We need our community’s help and support in this situation.” The authorities are encouraging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward, in the hopes of quickly making an arrest.
