NORWOOD, MA – At approximately 07:00pm on Monday, October 16th, 2023 a call came into emergency services that a vehicle had crashed through barriers and into a ditch on Moderna Way, in the area of 1 Upland Road. It is reported that the vehicle turned on to Moderna Way from Upland Road and crossed through oncoming lanes prior to crashing through a barrier and ending up on its roof off the road.
Norwood Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the crash. Upon arrival, units located a single vehicle upside down and off the roadway. The driver was located inside the overturned vehicle and was pronounced deceased. At that time, the State Police was requested to the scene to assist in the death investigation.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time. The identity of the victim has not yet been released by police pending notifications to the family. No further information has been made available at this time.
