On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at approximately 13:45 hours, Boston Police Officers arrived at the scene of 28 Michigan Ave to arrest a male suspect with multiple warrants out for his arrest. The suspect ran back inside, fleeing to the rear of the building.

Boston Officers were surrounding the building, and the suspect was then stopped at the rear of the building which he then proceeded to flee back inside. The suspect was then located and put into custody inside of the building. While police were looking for the suspect inside, they were approached by two dogs.

After opening the bathroom door, the first dog, a Pitbull, lunged and had bit a police officer in which the officer fired several shots and killed it. The other dog was also showing signs of aggression towards another police officer, in which it was also shot at and is now injured, but not deceased.

The police officer that was bit had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Boston EMS. The officer who fired shots at the other dog was also transported to a local hospital as a standard procedure for firing shots. At this time, there is no other information.
